Care & Cleaning

Down Duvets & Pillows

Warm Gentle Machine Wash - 40°
Cool Tumble Dry
Do Not Iron
Do Not Bleach
Do Not Dry Clean

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
Your duvets and pillows can be hand or machine washed. Place the duvet into a large machine with a small amount of mild liquid washing detergent and wash on a warm, gentle cycle so as not to stress the seams. Take care not to use any bleach or brightner as this strips the fabric of its protective downproof layer. Do not use any fabric softner as this coats the down and prevents it from drying properly. Make sure that the duvet is rinsed thoroughly, this should take 2-3 rinses. The duvet can be dried in a tumble-dryer on a low heat, take it out of the dryer and shake a few times during the cycle. Hang the duvet in the shade to air. Direct sunlight tends to make the down sweat which releases an odour. A small amount of shinkage may occur as the cover is 100% cotton downproof.

A FEW EXTRA POINTERS
Always use a cover to protect the duvet from perspiration, soiling and wear, the duvet itself should only need to be cleaned every four to five years. Regular fluffing will help the duvet last longer and provide better insulation. A few vigorous shakes each morning is sufficient to redistribute the fill and avoid matting. Use the cotton tog bag that is supplied with the duvet for storing or transporting your duvet. This bag is cotton and allows the duvet to breath. NEVER use plastic to store you duvet.

Linen

Warm Machine Wash - 40° to 60°

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
Wash at 40°C with a mild detergent and fabric sortner. It is best to hang linen out to dry, but you can tumble dry on a medium heat. Use a hot iron, and iron while slightly damp.

A FEW EXTRA POINTERS
Bed linen should be washed at least once a week, especially if slept in every night. Our bed linen is not pre-shrunk and may seem slightly too big before the first wash. All our linen is made from 100% cotton percale with a 200 or a 300 thread count. Please take care when washing as too high a temperature can cause excessive shinkage. We recommend that all our linen be washed at a temperature no higher than 40°C. You do not need to boil fine linen to acheive good results. We reccomend using a fabric softner in your wash, as it keeps the fibres soft and smooth and makes ironing easier. Tumble Dry at a warm temperature, but do not leave the linen until it is bone dry, take it out while it is still slightly damp. Take care as too high a temperature will cause excessive shinkage. For best results when ironing, iron your linen while still slightly damp. Remember to stretch and re-shape the linen from corner to corner before allowing to dry properly.
